The question mark in this publication is one of the most frequently asked questions by my patients when they want to know the details of the nose job I do in my operating room. I must tell you, in the first instance, that rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery where I make an incision between both nostrils to address the inside of the nose. The scar that remains is small, and over time it clears until it goes unnoticed. On that side, you should not worry because my experience as a certified plastic surgeon allows me to tell you that the result of the nose job will be satisfactory and, best of all, natural.
If your nose has a deviated septum, if your breathing is difficult and you also want to improve the structure of your nose, I recommend that you come to my office. My medical team and I will work so that you have the nose that you want so much.
Surgical Plan for a Scarless Rhinoplasty
Closed rhinoplasty is a surgery where incisions are not made on the outside of the nose because through the nostrils, and the specialist improves the structure of the nose and its tip, it is an operation that I do not perform. On the other hand, there is my preferred technique, which is open rhinoplasty, where I make a very small incision that joins those made between the nostrils to detail the inside of the nose. This type of rhinoplasty is the most suitable because having a complete view of all parts of the nose, and I can improve the entire nasal structure more easily.
After examining you, we will be ready to start the preoperative period and to start, and I ask you several questions related to your lifestyle, your diet, your daily activities, exercises, medications that you take, illnesses that you suffer, or medical treatments that you comply with. Every detail about your life is essential for me because it is the only way to prevent any type of risk. Depending on your answers and your current state of health, I will give you some routine exams to ensure that everything in your body is under control.
After the rhinoplasty, you will feel your face a little swollen; some bruising will also appear in the treated area and around the eyes. You should not be alarmed because these symptoms will disappear before the tenth day, and it is totally normal.
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated; use two pillows. Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach.
- Avoid lowering or raising the face abruptly.
- Do not lift the weight.
- Stop exercising for the next four weeks after rhinoplasty.
- Do not inhale or exhale forcefully through the nose, as you may bleed.
- While you are in recovery, do not expose yourself to the sun (beach or pool). When authorized, you will use sunscreen to protect the skin of the face.
Changes in the Patient After Rhinoplasty
Most patients who want to improve a part of their body are shy and withdrawn; especially, candidates for nose surgery or rhinoplasty. Normally they do not want to take photos, and their social circle is very small since they do not want them to notice those traits that cause them discomfort.
